About Animals in Transition

Robyn Budgeon, DVM, HBA

Owner of Brooke Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services

Dr. Budgeon graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1996 and has since enjoyed a very diverse career in veterinary medicine. The majority of her clinical career has been companion animal practice. Dr. Budgeon’s very first job was at the Owen Sound Veterinary Clinic where she has recently returned as an associate veterinarian. She has worked companion animal practices in Markdale, Owen Sound and Guelph and emergency clinics in Mississauga and Hamilton. Her career took her to England for 4 years where she worked for a veterinary charity where she gained a tremendous amount of clinical experience.  After returning to Canada in 2004, Dr. Budgeon enjoyed a 15 year career with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Dr. Budgeon enjoys the same variety within her family as she has with her career. She has children, a grandchild, dogs, a cat, and a horse.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help you, as the guardian of your pet, make the best decisions for both you and your pet as they come to the end of their life.  Our goal is to facilitate a peaceful and loving end of life experience for your pet in a setting where you will both be the most comfortable

Pets are an important part of our lives, from birth to death

Dr. Budgeon believes that our particular companion animals enter our lives for a reason. They bring what we need to have in our lives at that time: love, companionship, challenges, learning how to care, physical exercise, or sending us forth into the world to meet other people. Your relationship with your pet is unique. It is a reciprocal relationship; they receive from us their particular life learnings as well.

Our pets never live long enough for us. When their life draws to a close, sometimes they need veterinary assistance to make their transition. All veterinarians offer this service but busy practice demands are not always compatible with the end-of-life experience you or your pet would like to have. Being able to offer at-home euthanasia services is a great privilege and a service that Animals in Transition is honoured to provide.

The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.
